Stephen Kear lost his son, Nassau Police Officer Matt Kear, to suicide. He wants those struggling to know that there are people out there willing to help. So many people. He wants to erase the stigma that’s often associated with being a police officer: That they have to be tough. Steve’s message: There’s nothing wrong with struggling. There’s nothing wrong with asking for help. Getting help is essential. In Matt’s honor, Steve began Matthew Kear’s Paper Rose Project, a foundation supporting veterans and first responders. They have their second annual fundraiser on Thursday November 5 at Mulcahy’s in Wantagh. #suicideawarness #NCPD
