MAKE THE PIECES YOU LOVE WORK TOGETHER

Sometimes the hardest piece to wear is the one you fell in love with first. You bring it home, try it a few ways, and somehow the outfit never feels quite finished.

When I’m putting a look together, I start with three questions you can use in front of your own mirror:

What do I want you to notice first?
Choose your starting point—the print, the embroidery, the silhouette. Build around that detail. A simple pairing gives it space; a second statement works best when the two share a color or have different scales.

What connects the pieces?
Look closely at your print. That small touch of burgundy, olive, or cream can guide your bag, shoes, or trousers. They don’t need to match exactly; a repeated shade helps the eye move through the outfit.

Where does the outfit need definition?
With wide-leg trousers, try tucking the top or choosing a more fitted shape above. With a longer layer, check where it ends and whether your waist still feels defined. Take a full-length photo—proportion is often easier to see that way.

You can see these choices throughout this carousel: structured pieces beside softer fabrics, expressive details paired with familiar basics, and accessories that connect the colors.

Before you decide a piece “doesn’t work,” give it one more pairing. It may become something you reach for often.

Which piece in your wardrobe do you love but struggle to style? Tell me below—or DM “STYLE” if you’d like us to work through it together.
