The tension between making it big & disappearing into the woods one day is REAL. š
Iāve lived a few different lives already.
There was a time when I was living in Beijing, dancing and performing six nights a week. I was doing exactly what I loved, making great money, and living a life that felt almost surreal. Then there was the better part of a year I spent living out of my car, barely checking my phone, not worrying about emails, schedules, or being reachable. Just following wherever the road took me.
And the funny thing is, I found magic in both.
Iāve always had this restless part of me that wants to see the world, chase the next big thing, say yes to the adventure, and never wonder what might have happened if Iād just gone for it. Wrestling has given me another version of that. Another dream worth building a life around.
But the older I get, the more I find myself craving something else, too. Community. Consistency. A place to call home. People to come back to.
Finley feels like one little step toward building that life. My own little family. My own little corner of the world.
For a long time, I think I bought into the idea that you had to choose. That you could either have the big dreams, the career, the adventure, or you could have the roots, the home, and the people. That those two versions of life couldnāt really coexist.
I donāt believe that anymore.
I still want to make it big. I still want to see the world. I still want all the adventures. And I also want a home, a community, and someday, my person to share it all with.
Maybe the dream isnāt choosing between the two. Maybe itās building a life big enough to hold both. ā”
