It’s not often that a book is successfully adapted for the screen. It’s very rare for both the book and the film to be equally remarkable, as is the case with my favourite novel, Gone with the Wind.
This autumn, three adaptations of wonderful books from different genres have been released, and I recommend watching them.
Project Hail Mary — both the film and the book are very good.
For lovers of detective stories: Verity, a psychological thriller based on the novel by Colleen Hoover. I liked the book. I liked the main question behind this mystery: “Is everything really the way we perceive it?” A wonderful adaptation and favourite actors.
And the third adaptation is East of Eden, based on the magnificent novel by John Steinbeck. The series is atmospheric, with beautiful cinematography and the wonderful English actress Florence Pugh. She was magnificent. But the book is a masterpiece. The series showed only a small part of the book. I recommend watching it, but even better, read or listen to the audiobook of this novel.
