Being “one of the lads” shouldn’t mean keeping everything to yourself.
For many men, opening up about how they’re feeling can be difficult.
There can be pressure to stay strong, brush things off and worry that asking for help will change how others see you.
As Paddy McGuinness highlights in a recent chat we had with him, putting your ego aside and reaching out doesn’t make you weak.
And it certainly doesn’t make you any less
You don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable to talk to someone.
You don’t need to have all the right words, either. Sometimes, taking that first step is enough.
If you’re struggling, Manchester Mind is here to listen. Our counselling team offers a space to talk through what’s going on, without judgement.
