The Bölme interdisciplinary school concluded its four-month educational programme in Almaty with a presentation of 16 final projects created by participants from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Exploring the concept of “negative space” in art and architecture, participants experimented with composition and reinterpreted traditional Central Asian materials, including wool and clay, through contemporary creative practices.
The programme also brought together 23 invited lecturers and mentors from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Germany and India, offering participants opportunities to develop practical skills and engage with the professional community.
The initiative was implemented with the support of the ALIPH Foundation, the European Union, the SÄR Foundation and Kazakhstani contemporary art gallerist Danagul Tolepbay.
