A Chinese Doll
This series is the second chapter of Una bambola cinese, an ongoing analogue photography project developed between Italy and China.
Photographed in small towns and everyday public spaces, the work follows an Italian-Chinese drag performer as a self-created image moves through ordinary landscapes. The photographs are less about performance itself than about the encounter between fiction and reality, glamour and routine, visibility and anonymity.
Observed through the language of analogue photography, the project becomes a portrait of friendship, transformation, and the fragile distance between who we are and who we choose to become.
