Confidence gets you into the room. Humility is what keeps you there. πŸ™πŸ§  β € Those two truths keep each other in check. Lose the first, and you’ll spend your life shrinking, doubting and waiting for permission. Lose the second, and success will slowly turn you into someone nobody wants to be around. β € The people who stay great hold onto both. They walk in confident enough to take their shot and humble enough to learn from anyone in the room, whether it’s the CEO or the person cleaning up after the meeting. β € Fame, money and titles test that balance more than anything. The higher you climb, the louder the voice gets telling you you’ve outgrown everyone else. The best never listen. β € Never doubt your worth, and never use it as a reason to make someone else feel small. β € Follow @Wealth to learn valuable advice every time you open Instagram. ⭐ β € #Wealth #Humility #Confidence #Character #LifeLessons
Kenyan law professor Phoebe Okowa has been reelected as a judge of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for a full nine year term, securing Kenya’s representation at the United Nations court until 2036. Okowa won 183 votes in the UN General Assembly and 13 votes in the 15 member Security Council during elections held in New York on Tuesday, November 3. She secured the position after three rounds of voting, with Sierra Leone withdrawing its candidate to support her. Okowa first joined the court in November 2025, becoming the first Kenyan judge to serve at the ICJ since its establishment in 1945. She replaced Somali judge Abdulqawi Ahmed Yusuf, who had resigned. She is a professor of international law at Queen Mary University of London and previously became the first African woman to serve on the UN International Law Commission. Her new term will run from February 6, 2027, to February 5, 2036.
Javits Frimpong’s Mother Reportedly Arrives in New York Doris Adu Gyamfi, the mother of 15-year-old Javits Frimpong, has reportedly arrived in New York to be with her family after her son was fatally shot on his way to school in the Bronx. Before leaving Ghana, she thanked those who had prayed for and supported her family. Speaking through a translator, she made one request clear. β€œI want justice for my son. That’s all.” She also shared that Javits had hoped to become a doctor. Javits moved from Ghana to New York about a year ago to live with his father. He was shot near Crotona Park on October 29 while walking to school. As of Wednesday morning, police had yet to announce an arrest. Pinkwall sends condolences to Javits’s family as they grieve and wait for answers.
