Yesterday was my final day of the season on duty as piper at @blair_castle_atholl_estates ! The castle has now closed its doors for the 2026 season, and what a season it has been!

Countless tunes, questions and chats with the visitors throughout the year, and while it's sad to draw this one to an end, I'm eternally grateful to have the opportunity to come to this magnificent place, to entertain the visitors and represent the castle and its amazing history!

For some this is their final season at the castle, and I'll miss seeing you around though I'm sure our paths will cross again at some point in the future, hopefully soon. To all those returning next year, I'll see you then (if not before!)!!

Thank you to everyone connected to the castle, to all my fellow duty pipers and to everyone who came to say hello and hear some pipes throughout 2026! Piping here will always be an incredible honour and a joy!!!!

November is Epilepsy Awareness Month 💜 I’ve gone back and forth about sharing this because, for a long time, epilepsy was just a part of my life that I kept pretty private. There are so many parts of someone’s story that you can’t see just by looking at them. The fears they’ve carried, the things they’ve had to learn to live with, the moments that have changed them, and the strength they’ve had to find along the way. Epilepsy is one of those parts of my story. It has taught me that strength doesn’t always look like being fearless. Sometimes strength is learning how to live fully even when there are things you can’t control. It’s choosing to keep dreaming, laughing, loving people, and showing up for your life without knowing exactly what tomorrow will hold. There have been moments when I wished this wasn’t part of my story. But looking back, I can also see how much it has shaped the way I see life. It has made me more grateful for ordinary days, more aware of what other people may be carrying silently, and more appreciative of every opportunity I get to do what I love. Most importantly, I’ve learned that having epilepsy does not make me any less capable, strong, or myself. I’m still learning. I’m still growing. And I’m still trusting God with the parts of my story that I don’t always understand. So this month, I’m sharing a piece of mine in hopes that someone else feels a little less alone — and as a reminder to be kind. You truly never know what someone is fighting behind the scenes. 💜 Epilepsy is a part of my story. It is not the definition of it. #NEAM2026 #wherecommunitysparkshope
