1) Halloween weekend feels like I’ve stretched garden season long enough; Time for some garden clean-up…except for a few things I’m still gonna push along. 😜

#thecounty #princedwardcounty4) It looks sparse now, to me. It’s deceiving. There is still so much in it that could be consumed.

#thecounty #princedwardcounty5) These wouldn’t be any good for a sandwich now, but this variety was never meant for that purpose. They’re still great for sauce!

#thecounty #princedwardcounty6) There is more fruit left on my vines, at this point, than leaves.

#thecounty #princedwardcounty7) I cannot complain about our tomato harvest this year. This will be the last of them. At the height of harvest season, I picked this amount every other day. We ate our fair share. Our freezers are full. We kept some of our friends in supply all season, and we shared with a few neighbours. We definitely learned from our mistake of last year, which was planting our tomatoes directly in the soil under a black walnut tree. Don’t do it.

#thecounty #princedwardcounty9) This marks the end of year two for our asparagus. The planting instructions recommended waiting three years before harvesting. Impatient person that I am, I am going to assume that means I can harvest in my third year (this Spring) rather than after it. 😜

#thecounty #princedwardcounty10) Brussels sprouts are still growing. I won’t be giving up on those just yet.

#thecounty #princedwardcounty11) Kale (two types) will continue to grow until the ground freezes. Some say it’s best (sweeter)
