Donald Trump promised a glorious new era for the working man in America in his campaign for the 2024 election. Instead, many of those the president claimed he would help have lost out, while richer Americans have made gains.

Take the stock market: many have benefited from the AI bonanza, which has driven up the value of the S&P 500. But the impact is lopsided.

Of the $17trn increase in Americans’ equity and mutual-fund wealth since the end of 2024, nearly 90% accrued to the richest tenth of households, compared with just 0.6% for the poorer half, as our chart shows.

Instagram really said, “What if you never had to relight your diyas again?” 😭🪔

And obviously, I had to investigate.

Apparently, there’s a viral hack doing the rounds where people use nail paint on diya battis to supposedly keep them from blowing out in the wind.

Sounds genius? Sounds questionable? I had QUESTIONS. 😂

So here’s me putting the internet’s latest Diwali discovery under the spotlight.

Because if there’s one thing I don’t want to be doing on Diwali, it’s running around relighting 25 diyas every five minutes.

Would you have believed this hack? 👀

Save this for your Diwali prep, but please don’t try burning nail polish or adhesives on a wick. They’re not designed for this use and can pose a fire and fume hazard. 🪔

💪 3,000 PUSH-UPS IN NOVEMBER!

I've seen this challenge going around quite a lot lately, so I've decided to give it a go myself!

3,000 push-ups in 30 days! That's 100 every single day. 😳😂

But I wanted to put my own little spin on it and do it for more than just fitness.

November is also Movember, a time to raise awareness around men's mental health, so I thought I'd use my platform to help spread a positive message.

I'm no mental health expert or mentor, and thankfully, it's not something I personally struggle with. But I do think it's important that men feel comfortable talking when things aren't going so well.

As a dad to three boys, I'd hate to think that as they get older, they'd ever feel they had to bottle things up or struggle in silence rather than speak to someone.

If you're feeling a bit down, reach out to a mate, family member or someone you trust. Sometimes a simple conversation can make a massive difference.

I'm not asking for donations or trying to raise money. I just want to encourage more men to look after themselves, both physically and mentally.

I'll be recording my progress throughout November, and hopefully some of you will join me!

Now let's see if my arms survive the next 30 days! 😂💪
