Some photos make your brain work a little harder than usual. From Christmas lights glowing beneath heavy snow and a snow leopard blending into a rocky cliff, to clouds that look like ocean waves and birds making a tree appear covered in leaves, perspective can completely change what we think we’re seeing. Other images are just as deceptive, like frost creating mountain-like patterns on a windshield, camel shadows appearing larger than the animals themselves, and Mauritius’ famous “underwater waterfall,” which is actually an optical illusion created by sand and sediment moving off an underwater plateau. Sometimes the most interesting photos are the ones that make you look twice. Follow @explain to learn something new every day 🤝

BENCH PRESS TECHNIQUE: UNDERSTANDING THE ARCH Here’s a demonstration from my seminar in Hobart on the weekend with @gabosborne , where we broke down the mechanics of creating a strong, stable arch for the powerlifting style bench press. One of the biggest mistakes I see is lifters misunderstanding how to use their feet to create leg drive. When you’re positioned up on the balls of your feet, the objective isn’t simply to push your toes into the floor. You want to drive your heels DOWN towards the ground. Your heels won’t actually touch the floor, but the intention to push them down initiates hip extension, which encourages anterior pelvic tilt and promotes spinal extension, creating the arch. Combine this with pulling your shoulders back and down, and you’ve created a strong, rigid and stable position to press from. The mistake people make is pushing through the toes instead of the heels, pushing through the toes doesn’t influence the arch and it doesn’t increase the tension being placed through the body. In this video, we demonstrate the difference between pushing through the toes and driving the heels down, and how this can influence your bench press setup.
WHAT A WAY TO CLOSE IT OUT 🔥 A roller coaster of a series, but the boys came through with the Game 6 win to finish 2nd in the series and 7th overall. A strong result, but there’s no time to rest. The boys are back in action shortly for the next series. Kingdom, keep backing them. Let’s keep this momentum going! 😤 -- WHAT A WAY TO CLOSE IT OUT 🔥 Series yang penuh naik-turun, tapi RRQ Apex berhasil mengamankan kemenangan di Game 6 dan finis di posisi 2 dalam series, serta 7 overall.
