21 hours agoPrimo is really good that bread is what makes it, never had cheesesteak alley before, but to me Dibella is the number 1 sub shop
4 days ago@domcreviews you need to get down to Reading Terminal Market in Philly and get a cheesesteak from By George! It is hands down what you need to compare all the others! @Cheesesteakalley you definitely sparked a fire in the cheesesteak world in our area! Yours is excellent!👏
6 days agoI think there’s very little difference, personally, between a cheesesteak I’ve had in Philadelphia and one I’ve had here in New York City. That said, I think it really boils down to identity. The cheesesteak was invented in Philadelphia, and I think people there take a tremendous amount of pride in its creation. It’s become so closely tied to the city’s identity, much like New York pizza is to New York City or Southern food is to the South. I really think so much of it comes down to regional pride and the identity people attach to the food they're known for.
6 days agoIt’s most definitely our Wagyu meat and Wagyu tallow we use to cook everything in. Well plus the Cooper sharp cheese. And our toasted semolina. Honestly it’s all of it 😂 but yes we use the highest quality everything
6 days agoMy favorite cheesesteak in the 518 is at Fred the Butcher. Order the steak and cheddar, add bell pepper, mushrooms and swap the cheddar for Cooper’s sharp American cheese. To die for, and only $14 for a whole.
6 days agoIt started in Philadelphia. That’s what makes it a Philly cheesesteak. The best cheesesteak is at Dibella’s. Add some onions and mushrooms. With some mozzarella cheese.
