I unplugged today. Took my watch off, left my phone in the bedroom until the late morning. Went out to breakfast and then just unplugged. It is never an easy time or year or day specifically and I try not to rerun everything through my mind. However so many things go through my mind and I found myself looking through quotes and some hit hard.
Leigh touched so many lives in the little amount of time she was here, changed so many forever, changed for the better. I just wish I could have gotten to see her to do even more.
The Death of a Child, It's like losing your breath and never catching it again.
It's a forever panic attack as your soul is screaming for them. It's feeling your heart dying.
This has been on my mind,
There can be no greater grief than that of a parent losing a child. For obvious reasons, I have also been crying for all the grandparents who are surely navigating their own unique layers of pain.
Loss of their precious, cherished grandchild. And seeing their own child experience the worst, most searing loss imaginable.
I never knew it was possible for a heart to literally "break" until my child died. When my child died part of me died, too, and that part of me will never be revived again.
It's impossible to explain this deep heartbreak to another. It's a searing pain that invades the heart and carves out a piece that will never be returned. Only those who have experienced the death of a child can truly understand.
I always knew that the one thing I could not survive was the loss of my child. I was right. The person I was is gone. I took her place.
The person I am now is not the person I was before. I am finding out who I am; Rebuilding and learning to survive without my daughter physically here me. I know I will be okay because she is still with me everyday, I am just not the person I was before.
