In the spirit of Halloween, I thought I might share some photos of some of the graves I visited in France. There is. A great deal of beauty in cemeteries, and a moment to reflect on fleeting time and those we love.
Joyeux Halloween, mes amis 😌
1. «Memento Mori» remember that we must die. Cemitière du Père Lachaise (Paris)
2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10. Cemitière du Nord à Reims
3. Pietro Paolini - Portrait d’homme, Francesco Maria Fiorentini
9. Widow Barbe Nicole Ponsardin Clicquot. I had to visit the site of the woman behind the champagne house Veuve Clicquot. The death of her husband allowed her to work in a time when only widows could run a business. Forever known as a widow.
10. “Mono no awaré” - the Japanese phrase about finding the beauty in the impermanence of time. Appreciating experiences while we can.
11. Grace Kelly’s tomb, Monaco
12. Hubert Robert l’Accident (Musée Cognacq-Jay à Paris)
13. Cemitière Trabuquet de Menton, an inscription
14. Cemitière Trabuquet de Menton. In awe of this grave, how loved they must have been.
