Yesterday, I attended the Filmmakers Masterclass & Screening organised by
@africansdgfilmfest in partnership with
@swedeninnigeria. It was an afternoon of learning, reflection and connection with filmmakers whose work challenges stereotypes and expands the possibilities of storytelling.
For me, the value of this collaboration goes beyond a single masterclass. Bringing international perspectives into conversation with filmmakers in Abuja creates space for this generation of storytellers to examine our choices: whose experiences we centre, the assumptions we reinforce or challenge, and the impact our stories can have.
These exchanges can deepen both our creative ambition and our sense of responsibility-encouraging us to tell compelling stories that also build understanding, protect human dignity and inspire meaningful change.
This sits at the heart of my work as a social impact storyteller, filmmaker, and media/communications strategist. I am passionate about how stories shape perception, whose voices get heard, and how creativity can move people towards action.
Thank you to @africansdgfilmfest and @swedeninnigeria for investing in the people behind the stories.
