The story takes place in UC 0123 as the aristocratic Crossbone Vanguard launches a sudden, brutal invasion of the Frontier IV space colony to establish their totalitarian empire, the « Cosmo Babylonia. » Seabook Arno, a young engineering student, finds his peaceful colony life shattered and is forced to pilot the experimental, highly agile Formula 91 Gundam to protect his surviving friends. Meanwhile, his classmate and close friend, Cecily Fairchild, is discovered to be the heiress of the Vanguard’s ruling family and is swept into their aristocratic power struggle. Seabook must master the F91’s dangerous high-performance capabilities, including its heat-dissipating afterimages, to resist the Crossbone forces and save Cecily.
