Festive season ahead…
Time to start planning for next year🎃🤗👻
Celebrating my birthday this year in the land I was born 🇬🇧🎃 🦂✨ The 31st of October is conventionally known as Halloween, but did you know that this is actually a very ancient festival? This time of year was celebrated as Samhain in the ancient pagan calendar, when the ancient Celtic pagans used to roam these lands of Europe 🧙🏼‍♀️🌿 It is the day when the veil between this world and the spirit world is the thinnest in western paganism. Samhain was a time to honour the ancestors - holding parallels with Narak Chaturdashi and also Pitri Paksh in the Vedic calendar. To be in the land I was born, to just sit under the maple trees, drink matcha and roam around aimlessly was a great gift - and if you’re a Scorpion like me in any major planets, you’ll know that a birthday feels more like a cremation than a celebration 💀 Themes include crying as soon as you wake up, throwing out a few curses, buying candles and then remembering you’re actually a witch who can howl at the moon 😝🌕 You can find me wafting sage over Oxford street, randomly invoking ancient Goddesses at the crossroads and chanting Sanskrit as part of my daily duties as a Hindu priestess. There was never any separation, between the material and the spiritual. For me, this too is sacred land, it too is Kashi. Any maybe that’s the answer. Whilst holding our boundaries strong and fighting for the protection of the ancient world, lineages and civilisations - continuing to show up and see the sacred within the capitalist maze. 🌊 Because just in that moment, when you stop in the middle of a busy street and remember to thank the tree, you have shifted the earth to a higher timeline. 🕉️ Thank you all for your love and support!!! 🙏🏼🌹 जय माँ तारा 🔱💜
Bhola pati ❌ Chalak Patni 🤣 #layekfam #prashulovers #prasvcreation
If you ever find yourself pregnant on Halloween, may I suggest buying 10mm mirror tiles and sticking them on your belly one by one? It’s gonna take at least an hour but it’s also gonna be worth it. Not pictured - my disco boys, my flower child daughter, good friends and a wholesome 90’s style Halloween (aka: walking the neighborhood, eating all the candy, hanging with friends past the kids bedtime, not stressing about any of it)
