FIRST F1 RACE

Ryo Hirakawa probably never expected to make his first F1 race start in Mexico City, but that's exactly what he'll be doing today following the shock removal of Esteban Ocon from the weekend on Friday night.

Overnight, the signage above the Haas hospitality suite was changed to reflect the revised driver line-up. I imagine we'll see a different Haas driver line-up again next week in Brazil.

FROM LAST TO P7! WHAT A COMEBACK! Liam Lawson and Max Verstappen made contact during Friday practice at the Mexican Grand Prix, leaving both cars with damage. Not exactly the kind of incident Lawson needed, especially with his F1 future still uncertain. But credit where credit is due! Lawson apologised and then delivered a fantastic drive, fighting his way from last place all the way up to P7. A controversial moment with Max, an apology and an impressive comeback. Lawson certainly had a weekend to remember! 🎙️@kymillman Kym and @jackymartensf1 discuss it on @paddock_access
DISQUALIFIED Liam Lawson has been disqualified from Qualifying for the Mexico City GP due to a technical breach, meaning he will start from the back of the grid in tomorrow's Grand Prix. The New Zealand driver was summoned to face the Stewards after he was noted to be "in breach of the minimum MGU-K power requirement just after crossing the line on his fastest lap in Q2". "The driver maximum power demand and the electrical DC power of the ERS-K were reduced at greater rates than what is permitted by the Regulations," the FIA Technical Delegate's report added. VCARB argued that the infringement did not provide any performance advantage; however, the regulations dictate that all cars must be in compliance with the regulations, and non-compliance is not excused if there is no performance advantage. Therefore, despite VCARB self-disclosing this breach, the only penalty the Stewards could apply was disqualification from qualifying. #f1 #formula1 #MexicoGP
CHEESECAKE FOR ALL VCARB crew will be feasting on cheesecake today with the compliments of Liam Lawson. Liam wanted to thank his crew as they head into the final day here in Mexico and thought cheesecake might be the best option.
