The European Parliament is committed to promoting gender equality! ✊

This European Gender Equality Week, we’re highlighting how the EU is working to advance women’s rights and promote gender equality.

From adopting the first EU measures to combat violence against women to strengthening pay transparency, Parliament has pushed for concrete actions to tackle discrimination and protect women’s rights.
It has also championed stronger safeguards against online harms and legislation to improve gender balance on company boards.

That being said, there is still work to do. Gender equality requires continued action, in our legislation, our institutions and our everyday lives 💜

Slide 5 and 6 are useless. You can't compare the medium retribution if you don't account for same job and same amount of weekly hours... And the pensions, of course they are lower in this case 🤔😐

Maybe make clear next time that it is number of reports, not the number of instances of sexual violence. It's a huge difference and many people didn't caught that.

100% of all men have experienced physical, mental and sexual assaults in their childhood. What now? Imprisson their mothers, fathers, relatives and neighbours?

As a man, I can confirm this isn't just about women. I've constantly been groped by women in clubs and nobody cared. When a man does it, it's immediately a huge issue and harassment. When a woman does it, it's brushed off as 'just a joke' or a 'compliment'. This double standard is a huge problem.
