From Halloween to Día de los Muertos

I'm spending the weekend up at the cottage, where the autumn colours are fading, the leaves are falling, and things are getting decidedly quieter. But earlier last month, I had the opportunity to spend some time with a watch that couldn't be further removed from the muted colours of a Canadian autumn.

Enter the MIDO Multifort TV Big Date Alebrijes.

Inspired by the fantastical creatures of Mexican folk art, alebrijes are wonderfully imaginative creations, bursting with colour, intricate patterns, and more than a little personality.

With Halloween now behind us and Día de los Muertos upon us, it seemed like the perfect time to share this colourful creation.

Día de los Muertos is a celebration of life, memory, and the enduring connection between the living and those who have passed. And while alebrijes have their own distinct artistic origins, their colourful presence feels particularly appropriate at this time of year.

As for the watch? Well, sometimes horology should be a little playful. A little unexpected. And perhaps even a little wild.
