Pardonnez-moi.

When nothing matters anymore, when nothing makes sense, when we have crossed the boundaries of what is tolerable, we can—once again—plunge headfirst into the black bile, forging a conduit between our own bodies and the abyss, into which all life force and all hope will pour away. Yet, from the depths of the hells that draw our being in, we might also cling to a word, an image, or a symbol—something that reminds us of our heritage and our origins. Such symbols are recognizable by the opening they create within the soul: a sense of being connected to something, a premonition that the heart might still open, and that not everything is lost. But perhaps these breaches are merely an illusion—so many things are. Perhaps tomorrow I shall die, while others experience love and beauty. My body is a tomb—a tomb that reeks of sulfur and is filled with strange creatures. I am so afraid. I would give anything not to be here. Everything is hell. Please forgive me.
