Exploring Science, History and Legacy!
As part of our 30th anniversary celebrations, distinguished guests, colleagues and international partners alongside Richmond Hill Mayor, David West, explored the historic David Dunlap Observatory in Richmond Hill for a special guided tour and team luncheon.
A landmark of Canada’s scientific heritage, the David Dunlap Observatory has played an important role in advancing astronomical research and public education since its opening in 1935. Home to an iconic 74-inch telescope, the Observatory continues to inspire scientific curiosity and discovery.
The visit provided an opportunity to explore Richmond Hill’s rich scientific history, strengthen connections and reflect on the importance of research, innovation and international collaboration in addressing global challenges.
As UNU-INWEH celebrates three decades of advancing water science and bridging research and policy, the gathering highlighted the shared importance of scientific discovery, knowledge-sharing and collaboration in building a more sustainable future.
