Of Blades and Wings by @elizaraineauthor
Is a book you do not want to miss. It releases on November 3, 2026.

I had such a great time with this one. It’s action packed, entertaining, and filled with enough battles, challenges, and twists to keep the pages turning. Eliza Raine makes it incredibly easy to get swept up in this world.

One of my favourite parts was exploring the Valkyries, their training along with the Norse mythology woven throughout the story. The academy setting, the challenges, and watching Maddy navigate a world where she’s constantly being tested made this such an enjoyable read. I loved seeing her find her footing in a world that certainly doesn’t make things easy for her.

I also loved the friendship between Maddy and Sarra. In a world full of danger, secrets, and questionable loyalties, their bond was a highlight. Because let’s be honest, not every great relationship needs a brooding man lurking in the shadows.

Although, speaking of brooding men let me introduce you to Kain.

A disgraced fire fae, stripped wings, a deadly touch, and enough anger and vengeance to burn the entire world down. He’s dangerous, unpredictable, and absolutely not someone I’d want as an enemy. But there’s something about the way he watches Maddy, pushes her limits, and seems to appear when things go sideways that makes him impossible to ignore.

He’s complicated, dangerous, and carrying enough baggage to fill an entire library. I’m intrigued, obviously. A walking red flag with a fire problem? He literally sounds so hot.

This is a fantastic start to a series with a fascinating world and characters I want to spend more time with. If you love Norse mythology, Valkyries, Viking fae, academy training, action, and a dangerously intriguing MMC, this one deserves a spot on your TBR.

Needless to say, I’m ready for the next book.

Thank you to @simonschusterca for the gifted eARC which was downloaded via @netgalley
