So having a heart attack at the end of state wasn’t on my bucket list. But Despite me and the guys falling short by just three points at state and securing the three peat. I just want to start this off and say on what a huge blessing is has been to run and be apart of Wamego xc. This team is one of the best things that has ever happened to me and there isn’t enough words to describe the amount of love and compassion I have for these guys. Granted we may not of gotten the three peat but that doesn’t define the amount of work we had put in to get where we are now. I think we were and are the most improved team in 4A regardless of what sports in Kansas or any of those big known names had to say. We started this season as a team that nobody would of had to look for and turned it around and finished the season as a top contender and lost state by 3 points. At the end of the day we don’t need a three peat title that says we are a good team. These guys alone had taught me that I’m not just a 800 runner that doesn’t know how to run cross country.
