The sun rises in the east and sets in the west, so a West Coast road trip wouldn’t be complete without stopping to catch one of these magical sunsets
Along the Taranaki coastline you’ll find these unique black sand beaches home to the iconic Three Sisters and Elephant Rock
Getting here is an easy 5 minute walk along the river mouth from the end of Clifton Road.
⚠️ Just remember to plan your visit around low tide, as accessing the area during high tide can be dangerous.
Definitely one of my favourite sunset spots on the North Island!

Love this spot, Tongapōrutu is stunning. Jandals are must in summer, that sand burns.
