British columnist Petronella Wyatt made waves with a column arguing that feminism failed women of her generation.
Wyatt, who was in her mid-50s when she wrote it, described meeting a group of friends every week at a London restaurant. All of them were highly educated working women. All of them, she wrote, were single and without children.
She argued that her generation was taught to put careers and independence first and to think and act like men, and that many of those women now feel lonely and unloved. "Feminism has failed me and my generation," she wrote.
The column first ran in 2024 and is being widely shared again, with many women saying it describes their own lives.

Feminism didn’t fail you because it achieved what it was set to in the first place…. Isolate women, make them bitter and lonely as they grow older… you failed yourself

Well if she’s unhappy, she can fix most of those things. She can adopt or get in a relationship. If she’s is happy, carry on.

Women say men only think about sex but when they have none in terms of relationships they won't shut up about it.
