Long before the building became a public library, it was home to one of Chicago’s most unusual and talked about drinking spots. Known as the Midget Club, the tavern attracted plenty of attention and became a popular destination for people looking for something different from the city’s traditional nightlife. Now, rare footage offers a fascinating glimpse inside the bar and the atmosphere that once made it so memorable. The footage comes from I Married a Munchkin, a film by Chicago filmmaker Tom Palazzolo. His work documented everyday life and some of the more unusual corners of the city, preserving scenes that might otherwise have disappeared from public memory. This particular footage gives viewers a chance to see the Midget Club as it actually looked while it was still operating. The tavern eventually closed after the city acquired the property and the building was cleared to make way for a public library. The decision became controversial among people who believed the establishment had a place in the neighbourhood and questioned whether another location could have been used for the library instead. Today, the footage serves as a reminder of how quickly familiar places can disappear as cities change and redevelop. Whether the library was worth the loss of the tavern is still an interesting question, especially for those who remember the Midget Club. Would you have saved the bar or supported the library?
Men No Longer Need To Earn $5 Million A Year To Date Me — Rapper Rubi Rose Retracts her Previous Dating Standard American rapper Rubi Rose has seemingly backtracked on her previous declaration that men must earn at least $5 million annually to stand a chance of dating her. During a livestream with streamer BenDaDonnnn, the conversation turned to her earlier statement in 2025, with the streamer jokingly suggesting that he would need millions of dollars to take her out because of her previously stated financial requirement. However, Rubi disputed the claim, insisting, “I never said that. I take it back now though.” Her response appeared to signal a change in her previous dating standard, as she suggested that men no longer need to meet the $5 million annual income requirement to have a chance with her.

I thought they were cigarette butts A remarkable rock covered in hundreds of cylindrical and circular patterns appears to be crinoidal limestone, a sedimentary rock packed with fossilized remains of ancient marine animals called crinoids. Despite their plant-like appearance, crinoids are relatives of starfish and sea urchins that have inhabited Earth’s oceans for hundreds of millions of years. The distinctive patterns are fossilized fragments of crinoid stems, which were made of stacked, disc-shaped skeletal plates. After the animals died, their remains accumulated on the seafloor and eventually became embedded in limestone. Some deposits contain so many crinoid fossils that they make up most of the rock itself.
