Mabel has gotten it into her head that she's destined to dethrone Daisy, and absolutely nothing is going to convince her otherwise. Daisy has won a few rounds, and Mabel has almost won a few times. But every loss Mabel creates a brand-new excuse.
"I wasn't fully ready."
"My foot slipped."
"The sun got in my eye."
I had to intervene when poor Schultz became collateral damage. The sweet boy was just waddling along, minding his own business, when the fight came barreling straight into him. The next thing he knew, he was getting hit with a few stray beak bites.
The look of absolute despair in his eyes. You could practically hear him crying, "I have nothing to do with this! Leave me out of your fight!"
So I scooped up both ladies and pulled them in for some mandatory cuddle time. I tried explaining to Mabel that going against Daisy was a losing battle. Daisy is the undefeated champion for a reason.
Unfortunately, I might as well have been talking to a wall.
The two rivals eventually agreed to a temporary truce, but only because escaping my cuddles suddenly became their top priority. For one brief moment, avoiding me was more important than beating each other up.
This really isn't how
#aerobicsmonday is supposed to go, but the flock is in such a spicy mood these days. I hope our coaches
@roosterbobi and
@walterwafflescat are having a more peaceful workout.
