Every day, I better understand the words Congressman John Lewis wrote when he signed my copy of his autobiography, Walking With the Wind.

“With Faith and Hope, Keep Your Eyes on the Prize.”

There have been many things thrown at us during this election.

But history reminds us that these struggles are nothing new.

John Lewis faced them during the Civil Rights Movement. Women faced them in their fight for equality. The LGBTQ community faced them in the struggle for marriage equality. And countless others have faced them in their pursuit of freedom and justice.

Yet, through it all, people kept moving FORWARD.

Because HOPE is stronger than despair.
COURAGE is stronger than fear.
And LOVE is more powerful than hate.

Look at what’s happening across America!

Students are marching.

Neighbors are offering rides to the polls. People from every walk of life are coming together, united by a common purpose.

That’s LOVE in action.
That’s HOPE coming alive!

This is bigger than Black or White. Bigger than religion or cultural identity.

It’s about our HUMANITY. Our FAMILIES. And the kind of nation we want to be.

Something powerful is happening across America.

Not because of one leader.
Not because of one political party.
Because of the PEOPLE!

This isn’t simply a wave. It’s a movement rising from the ground up, not the top down.

They tried redistricting. They may try to discredit the vote.

But the PEOPLE are speaking!

On November 3rd, they will cast their votes.

And on November 4th, I believe the results will send a powerful message:

The majority of Americans want BETTER.

Lower prices. Better opportunities. Better lives. A better future for ALL.

HOLD ON. I’M COMING!

If you haven’t voted, it’s not too late.

The prize we seek is within our reach!

Reach out and grab it. Fill out that ballot. Make your voice heard!

VOTE!

With Faith and Hope, Keep Your Eyes on the Prize.
