Trump told the “Pod Force One” podcast, published Monday, that he would move to protect the billionaire SpaceX and Tesla CEO if congressional investigators came for him. Host Miranda Devine asked whether he’d pardon the people around him before Democrats could go after them.

His answer was a casual “I would if I needed to. Sure.” Trump first brushed off the idea of Democrats investigating Musk as just talk, then added that if it is talk, “we’ll have to protect them.”

I didn't know Elon musk was a criminal like that I thought he was a white collar crime guy and got away with it I didn't know that he was in trouble are you going to pardon yourself cuz you're in more trouble than anything and I don't think you could do it the way you're thinking you have the power to do it they're going to take that away from you with Democrats take off this you're screwed

Democrats now control both chambers of Congress, reopening the possibility that lawmakers could pursue a third impeachment of President Donald Trump. However, ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith is warning Democrats that such a move could seriously damage their political future.

Smith went so far as to make a prediction about the 2028 presidential election. He said that if Democrats pursued impeachment, a Republican would win the White House.

“I’m going to make a prediction right here and now,” Smith said. “If the Democrats pursue impeachment against Trump, I’m guaranteeing that a Republican will win the presidency in 2028. You can book it.” Smith said Democrats should use their control of Congress to demonstrate that they are capable of governing effectively. “Don’t waste your time impeaching him. Govern the country. Show that you want to govern. Show that you’re thinking about the American people instead of yourself, your vitriol, and your own commitment to vengeance,” he said.
