Americans head to the polls on November 3 for the 2026 U.S. midterm elections, with Donald Trump’s Republican Party facing a major electoral test as Democrats seek to regain control of Congress.
All 435 seats in the House of Representatives, 35 Senate seats and 36 governorships are being contested in an election that could reshape U.S. domestic policy, foreign relations and the remainder of Trump’s presidency.
Recent Reuters/Ipsos polling shows Democrats leading Republicans 53% to 44% among likely voters, while Trump’s presidential approval rating stands at 32%.
