I never wanted to create a retreat that felt like another thing you had to be good at.
Another schedule to follow. Another version of yourself to aspire to. Another place where wellness comes with a set of rules.
I wanted to create something that felt like a holiday with a little more heart.
Something that found a balance between traditional wellness ideas and all the other things that make life wonderful.
A space to slow down, move your body because it feels good, have meaningful conversations, laugh until your stomach hurts, explore somewhere beautiful, eat incredible food and spend time with people who might arrive as strangers but leave as friends.
I’ve always believed that wellbeing is about so much more than what happens on a yoga mat. It’s about balance. Making space for movement and stillness, adventure and rest, meaningful connection and a little indulgence.
Where yoga is an invitation, not an obligation. Where you can start your morning with meditation and end your evening with cocktails. Where there’s no one right way to experience a retreat.
I think the magic happens in the moments we don’t plan for. The conversations that go a little deeper, the laughter that comes easily, the friendships that form unexpectedly. The feeling of being somewhere new, surrounded by good people, with nowhere else you need to be.
That’s what I wanted it to be. A retreat that celebrates all the different ways we can feel good, rather than prescribing just one.
Sri Lanka, once again I’ll be going home with more than I bargained for.
