The house is rather clunky, like a grand old lady, and I want to make it feel comfortable in itself.’ Christmas at the north Cotswold home of Gardeners’ World presenter Rachel de Thame is all about comfort. From family gathered around the dining table to the relaxed, light-filled drawing room, the house has been restored by the family one room at a time since 2013, with ease at its heart. Buying an 18th-century house in east London’s Spitalfields - an area that now boasts some of the finest early Georgian homes in Britain - is no small commitment. Either it is a case of rectifying renovations, pre-listing, that may have stripped out original features, or a matter of living with these buildings in all of their creaky and slightly gloomy - often they were designed as live-work spaces rather than light flooded homes - glory. Mercifully, the owners of this house - a brick mid-terrace on one of the area’s prime streets - found themselves in the latter camp. Ces biscuits ou cookies amandes, chocolat et fleur de sel sont tout simplement incroyables ! J’adore en avoir sous la main pour les accompagner avec mon thé ou mon café : c’est à la fois hyper réconfortant, croustillant et gourmand. Une vraie tuerie à tester d’urgence! Ingrédients : 300 g d’oléagineux (un mélange d’amandes effilées, de noisettes, de pistaches et d’amandes entières concassées) 1 blanc d’œuf 1 bonne cuillère à soupe de miel 60 g de sucre glace Une belle pincée de fleur de sel Du chocolat pour le trempage Préparation : Dans un grand récipient, mélangez tous les fruits à coque avec le blanc d’œuf, le miel, le sucre glace et la fleur de sel jusqu’à ce que tout soit bien enrobé. Étalez finement cette préparation sur une plaque de cuisson en formant une couche régulière d’environ 2 mm d’épaisseur. Enfournez dans un four préchauffé à 160 °C pendant 20 à 25 minutes, jusqu’à ce que les fruits à coque soient bien dorés et croustillants. Dès la sortie du four, coupez la plaque directement en petits morceaux tant qu’elle est bien chaude pour faciliter la découpe. Laissez tiédir légèrement, puis trempez chaque morceau dans le chocolat fondu et parsemez d’une touche de fleur de sel. Laissez complètement refroidir pour figer le chocolat et c’est déjà prêt à être savouré ! #cookies #fyp #biscuit #chocolat #gateau
