On Sunday, Fire Chief James W. Wallace visited local houses of worship to speak with congregations about home fire prevention and winter fire safety. He emphasized the importance of working smoke alarms and bed shaker devices for residents who are deaf or hard of hearing. Working smoke alarms reduce the risk of dying in a home fire by approximately 60%, according to NFPA. Thank you to our faith leaders and congregations for welcoming BCFD and helping share lifesaving information throughout Baltimore’s communities.
