The Blue Wave led to green markets.

After the Democrats’ stunning sweep last night, stocks soared from start to finish as investors welcomed potential political gridlock and the winding down of hostilities in the Middle East.

Posting its best day since President Trump paused his ‘Liberation Day’ tariffs last year, the Dow rose over 1,500 points. The S&P and Nasdaq each climbed over 1.5%, with tech megacaps rebounding behind record days from Apple and Microsoft.

Elsewhere, US Treasurys rallied, pushing yields lower as investors bet on a divided Washington curbing government spending and borrowing. Oil also fell after JD Vance attributed the heavy GOP loss to the Iran conflict in a post on X, sending US and Brent Crude down ~8% each.

The only stocks taking hits today were those closely tied to the AI trade. With Dems controlling Congress, many expect limits are coming on data center construction. The sentiment sank semi and neocloud stocks, along with the energy companies powering the AI buildout.

If history is any indication, today’s gains could be a preview of the winter. The S&P has risen in the six months following every midterm since 1950, gaining 14.8% on average, per Liquid Trading.

Jennifer Lawrence flashes the three finger salute from “The Hunger Games” in NYC.

The sighting comes after Lawrence confirmed she will reprise her role as Katniss Everdeen in the upcoming film “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping,” reuniting with original cast members Josh Hutcherson and Woody Harrelson. 📸@backgrid_usa

Most fears feel much bigger in your head than they ever are in real life. 🐺🧠
⠀
Fear makes everything look bigger than it really is. The conversation you keep avoiding, the move you’re scared to make, the dream you’ve put off for years. The longer you wait, the scarier they get, until you start building your whole life around avoiding them.
⠀
Then one day you finally face it, and it’s nothing like you imagined. Sometimes it isn’t scary at all. Sometimes it ends up being the most freeing moment of your life.
⠀
Courage doesn’t mean you stop feeling afraid. It means you stop letting fear make your decisions.
⠀
So take an honest look at what you’ve been running from. More often than not, it’s the very door that leads to the life you’ve been dreaming about.
⠀
Face what scares you, because on the other side of it is a version of you that you haven’t met yet.
