Hotties vote! Then they celebrate with a drink! 🗳️
Tomorrow is Election Day, and we're not going to pretend it's just another Tuesday. Every game of pool, every dart and every person you met at the bar happened in a room that exists because together, we fought for it. These rooms only stay ours if we protect them.
Since January 2025, one party has held the House, the Senate and the White House. This year, state lawmakers filed 531 bills targeting LGBTQ+ people, and 40 became law. When the ones with power greenlight hate, everyone hears it. Meta's suspensions of LGBTQ+ businesses and creators have escalated since June, from San Francisco to Austin to Orlando, and even here in Chicago. Banks and companies like Stripe are freezing our accounts and calling us an "adult" business when we're not. They're coming for our accounts, our stages and our history, so what's next?
Closer to home, Illinois' new hemp law pulls THC drinks out of bars like ours on Nov 12. For some of our guests, THC was the only option because they physically can't drink alcohol. Disagree? Contact your state senator, your state rep and the Governor's office. Links are in our bio!
We're not telling you who to vote for. Every elected official works for you, and that goes for every party. Look up who's on your ballot and check what they've actually done. Real change, or just photo ops?
Remember 2024? Too many of us got comfortable and stayed home because we were sure it would work out. It didn't, and now we're here. Your vote matters in every race, not just the local ones. Now's your time to remind them that they work for us, not the other way around!
So now what? Get your a$$ out and VOTE! Polls close at 7PM, and if you're in line by 7, you get to vote! Find your polling place at chicagoelections.gov.
Not registered? Register at your home precinct tomorrow with two forms of ID, at least one showing your current address.
Then come see us at Marty's Martini Bar, Meeting House Tavern, The SoFo Tap or 2Bears Tavern Uptown! 🍻
The link to the full story is in our bio.
