We are all the family she needs on her birthday šŸ„¹

Yesterday we celebrated Oceanā€™s birthday early since today she will be at dance and school all day. I took her to have a shopping spree with her best friend and she loved it!

Raising a daughter as amazing as Ocean after becoming a single mom has been one of the biggest blessings. Sheā€™s the reason why I made all the decisions I made in the last year.

I wish I couldā€™ve given her a big family but then I realized that her brother and I are all she needed on her birthday. I loved the way she smiles and looks at us singing happy birthday to her. #motherdaughterlove #singlemomlife #lifeafterdivorce #happybirthday

He doesnā€™t need sight to see all the things with his heart šŸ„¹ October is blindness awareness month and I realized thereā€™s so many times people have told me ā€œIā€™m so sorry your son is blind.ā€ I wish all of those people could see Ashton the way I see him. The way he lives his life and the way he sees the world. Turns out he doesnā€™t need sight to see beautiful things and most of the time sighted people close their eyes when they live through some of the most beautiful moments in their life. She chose to be a dancer but she was the cutest model once upon a time šŸ„¹ Last week Ocean had dance pictures for her dance team and it reminded me of when she was little and really loved modeling. She was just getting started with dance so she didnā€™t dance as many hours as she dances now and modeling was one of her favorite things. We did lots of shoots together for brands and she was the cutest little model. Last year she even go to model at a New York City childrenā€™s fashion show and it was a big deal to see her walk the runway after modeling for so many years. Dance is her life now and she doesnā€™t get to model as much as she used to but she loves it when she gets the chance. And every time thereā€™s a photoshoot for dance it reminds me of her modeling and taking her to New York for her first fashion show. Iā€™m so proud of her and how much of her heart she puts into everything she does. And Iā€™ll always support her in everything she chooses to do. #tinydancer #danceislife #runwaymodel

I wasnā€™t expecting our day at @redwestslc to feel like such a full circle moment. Last year I brought my kids to this music festival while I was starting my divorce process and it was so healing to bring them back this year knowing I made it through such a hard time in my life. When @ellalangleymusic sang ā€œButterfly Seasonā€ I cried because I saw my kids so happy to be there and it reminded me of how far Iā€™ve come as a single mom and as a person learning to find myself and fly again. I donā€™t even know the girl from last October who felt like everything was falling apart but was actually building something so beautiful for her kids. Country music is so healing and Iā€™m so grateful we were able to come to this music festival this year. He doesnā€™t need sight when he has his white cane šŸ„¹ Yesterday was white cane day and I never had a chance to share just how much it means to watch your child grow up with a white cane. Ashton got his white cane when he was just 18 months old and started taking his first steps. First the white cane was just for banging on things and playing but as he got older he learned how to explore the world with his cane. Now that heā€™s 15, his white cane is a tool that allows him not just to explore the world independently but also to let others know that heā€™s blind and hopefully they will also support his independence by making a way for his cane. Iā€™m so proud of my son and how far heā€™s come using hai white cane since the first day he got it. At first it was hard to accept he would need a white cane his entire life. Fall break in the mountains with them šŸ„¹ Last year I went to an event with @visitsaltlake and entered a creator challenge to show the most beautiful places to visit in Salt Lake City. Turns out my video won second place in the challenge and the price for the winner was a stay @snowpinelodge and I decided to take my kids over fall break this year. As a single mom content creator this weekend was one of my favorite weekends with my kids. Being able to take them on trips like this on my own is something Iā€™ll always feel grateful for. My favorite part of this place was the @stillwell_spa and the grotto inside the spa was my kidā€™s favorite. They had never been to a place like this one. In the spa you can get facials, massages and they also have a dry sauna and a steam sauna for adults. My kids also loved the arcade and theatre room at the lodge and we had a movie night and watched one of my favorite 90s movies. The view from our room of the mountains covered in snow was gorgeous and we loved everything about this place.
