Be thankful for the bride price. 🙏🏾

Ken Fleming (@kendiesel91_) moved his family to Ghana, and he says the bride price brings security to a marriage. Both families are part of it, so when problems come, you don't face them alone: the family can step in. For him it was never about a price tag. It was about respect.

In America, he says, we lack a lot of that structure.

What do you think: tradition worth keeping, or outdated? 👇

No security. Just more power over her. Bride price is the reason I know women who died of HIV because their husbands had no self control and bride price was the reason they couldn’t leave and go home because of the “shame” attached to it.
