It’s actually just a coincidence
The Gulf of Mexico is a large body of water bordered by the United States, Mexico, and Cuba. Its eastern boundary is formed by Florida, while its northern coastline stretches across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. The gulf connects to the Atlantic Ocean through the Straits of Florida.

However, the resemblance is purely coincidental, with no geographical connection between the two regions. Egypt is actually located thousands of miles away in northeastern Africa.
