Endometriosis doesn’t JUST cause pain , sometimes it doesn’t even cause severe pain - but it may be quietly messing with your dopamine. Please share this someone who needs to hear this

That ‘nothing feels good anymore’ feeling? It could be your body’s inflammation, not your personality

This isn’t about blaming anyone or claiming a diagnosis.
It’s about naming a real experience: chronic pain, inflammation, poor sleep and exhaustion can affect motivation, mood and pleasure. If this resonates, bring it up with your GP or gynaecologist - you deserve to be taken seriously.

Solutions: there are no quick fixes. Prioritise Sleep, Nutrition, Exercise, stop smoking, reduce alcohol. Manage endometriosis pain with your specialist. Incorporate mindfulness, CBT, pelvic physio, acupuncture, yoga and look after your mental health and explore overlapping ADHD/Autism diagnosis

Do you have any advice for endo patients dealing with persistent insomnia, the only way I've been able to articulate it is almost like when it's time to go to bed it's either I can not fall asleep because of pain, or because I've been in "fight or flight" response all day that by the end of the day I believe it is truly impacting the insomnia. If anyone has any tips, remedies, suggestions, just a sister who is on her journey for 17 years learning everything I can.

What can you do about it?

IT SHOULD BE PART OF THE MEDICAL CURRICULUM IN EVERY COUNTRY. WE DESERVE TO BE HEARD, UNDERSTOOD, AND TO RECEIVE THE TREATMENT AND FUNDED RESEARCH THAT WE DESPERATELY NEED.

All this and we’re still expected to go about as normal. Australian government doesn’t consider this disabling and offers no support whatsoever!

Endo and fibroid here. The pain is so hernendous and the fatigue is horrible 😞. Im a very active woman in my younger days but now I just want to sleep all day. It takes alot to get me going now. I do lots of herbal blends to help support my sleep and ease my pain and I eat an anti-inflammatory whole foods diet to help reduce inflammation.

A valuable reminder that endometriosis can affect far more than pain, and that changes in mood, motivation and wellbeing deserve to be taken seriously alongside physical symptoms.

Does this apply to those of us who have cyclical pain? Not sure that constitutes as chronic pain

This is both so validating and devastating. I’m so glad there’s more research coming out that can help support all of us in the comments that can relate! It is a relief to find community with those of us that connect to this shared experience and also so much grief 🫂🫂

I got diagnosed with endometriosis, PMDD, and ADHD this year. So much about my life finally makes sense. I'm still so tired. 🙃
