4 hours agoWould a person of hearing normally get annoyed if a small child came up and spoke with them? Nope! I assume it would kind of be the same. It’s lovely that he found people he knew he could communicate with immediately ❤️
5 hours agoWe never once feel annoyed by any one else except when people ask us if we are deaf, when they can clearly see us signing. And when they say oh! I know ASL! Blah blah. That is the only thing that annoys us.
5 hours agoHe’s a kid. All kids deaf or hearing are going to interrupt anyone because they’re just curious. My 3 year old is always asking random people “what you turn?” Which means how old did you turn because she was obsessed with birthdays
7 hours agoThe deaf community are one of the most loving people I have ever met. I’m sure they loved a little one communicating fluently with them❤️
18 hours agoTo anyone who gets upset about a child “interrupting” their conversation has a level of self-importance I wouldn’t like to entertain. Kids are literally the best observers and always have something hilarious or insightful to say.
a day agoYou’re an amazing mom raising amazing humans! Love your videos! Have you noticed - Even when you speak to the hearing community, with the kids not around- you totally still use your hands !!
a day agoI married into a deaf family, my mil and one of my sil’s are deaf and from my understanding the deaf community loves it
a day agoAs a hearing adult, if a child comes up to me and speaks...to hell with the conversation im having. Kids are more fun anyways 😂
a day agoGetting mad at a kid for interrupting??? You never have children? That’s what they do, lol.
2 days agoI was taught the opposite when I first learned asl & that it was seen as rude if I knew it and didn’t greet someone? I always greet deaf people when I run into them - they usually light up and we have a great conversation!
2 days agoObviously not the same, but my daughter patched her eye ages 1-7. Many older individuals who had lazy eyes told us they too patched or they wish it was a thing when they were little. It's always nice to not feel alone in your lived experience. It was so helpful to hear for me too bc 4 hrs of patching was hard to force on my daughter for all those years
