The SpaceX and Tesla CEO has roughly half a billion dollars riding on today's midterms.⁣ ⁣ Despite claiming he'd be doing a "a lot less" political spending in the wake of the 2024 election, Elon Musk has blown past his donation total from two years ago, contributing a staggering $474 million to midterm campaigns.⁣ ⁣ Apart from wealthy candidates who've funded their own campaigns in the past, the total makes Musk the single largest political donor in US history, according to the New York Times (NYT).⁣ ⁣ Since July, Musk has donated roughly $384 million to GOP groups, with over $200 million of that spent in Texas alone. Even more, Musk's total donation figure is likely closer to, if not over, $500 million, with the NYT noting that current federal records only run through October 14th.⁣ ⁣ 📸 : Getty
