After setting out on Nov. 1, 1998, Karl Bushby returned home to northern England on Monday, embracing his mother after completing a 28-year journey to walk around the world.
Along the way, he crossed shifting ice on the Bering Strait and swam the Caspian Sea and English Channel to avoid traveling by boat or plane.
