Olympic silver. Now she plays pickleball.
Goh Liu Ying won Olympic silver in mixed doubles with Chan Peng Soon at Rio 2016. She was a 2010 Commonwealth Games gold medallist and Malaysia's flag bearer at the Tokyo Olympics. In 2019 she left BAM to play as an independent.
Before giving birth she played pickleball two to three times a week, sometimes for three hours. She co-founded Kidslympic Malaysia, sports games for children aged 5 to 12, renamed Kidsnergy in June 2026. In 2026 it decided to include pickleball, to see how popular it is with under-12s.
At the 2026 AmBank Malaysia Pickleball Championship she partnered ex-squash player Ooi Kah Yan for the first time and reached the women's doubles semi-finals.
"You can go pro or just be social. That's the advantage," Goh said in 2025.
