I can’t imagine a more simple route to building a coffered ceiling in a previously vaulted living room 🤪😅 follow along! The final reveal is coming up next

High ceilings are nice, vaulted are a P.I.T.A., especially if you have spiderwebs or inaccessible windows where a 2nd floor should be. Then there's the heating bill in winter; heat rises, and the ground area stays cold, so that heater works OT. Your overall design is so much better.

I mean if we're going to follow the Frank Lloyd Wright design philosophy, vaults should absolutely not be in the foyer and especially not exclusively in the foyer. His designs utilize vaults in the main living area, so that when you come in the door you feel safe and covered by a lower ceiling and then compelled to move into the larger space of the house.

I’m wondering how much time other people spend in their foyer?

Can’t wait to see the finished look! Between the space upstairs and connecting the hallway upstairs to the bonus room and the work you’ve done in your room, this is exciting!
