🏏 2-DAY TEST CRICKET A New Proposed Format of Cricket 1. MATCH DURATION - Each match will be played over 2 days. - No third day or reserve day. - Both teams will play on both days. 2. OVERS ALLOCATION - Each team gets 45 overs on Day 1. - Each team gets another 45 overs on Day 2. - Maximum allocation: 90 overs per team. - Each day's 45-over allocation starts from 0 overs. 3. CONTINUATION OF BATTING - Both teams start their innings from 0/0 on Day 1. - On Day 2, both teams continue from their Day 1 scores. - Runs and wickets carry forward. - Only the overs reset to 0 on Day 2. - No team starts a new innings on Day 2. Example: Day 1: - India: 240/4 (45 overs) - England: 207/6 (45 overs) Day 2: - India resumes at 240/4. - England resumes at 207/6. - Both teams receive another 45 overs. 4. ALL-OUT RULE - Each team has a maximum of 10 wickets. - Once all 10 wickets are lost, that team's innings is permanently over. - An all-out team cannot resume batting on Day 2. - No second innings is required. Example: - India: 240/4 - England: 207 all out India wins by 33 runs and an innings. 5. WIN RULE - If both teams are all out, the team with the higher score wins. - If the second team is all out before reaching the first team's score, the first team wins. - If the second team scores more runs and completes its innings, it wins. 6. DRAW RULE - If neither team achieves a winning result by the end of Day 2, the match is declared a Draw. - If the second team is still batting and has not been all out when the match ends, the result can be a Draw. - If rain or bad weather prevents a result within two days, the match is declared a Draw. - No third day or reserve day. 7. TRADITIONAL TEST CRICKET RULES Traditional Test cricket rules apply unless specifically changed, including: - Toss and choice of batting or bowling. - Batting, bowling and fielding. - Extras and dismissals. - Umpiring decisions.
