🎶 BASS Song of the Month returns with mezzo-soprano Anna Laurenzo, whom you can also hear live this weekend in Passions II performing Chausson.
This month, we’re sharing Anna and pianist Michael Brofman in a selection from Dvořák’s Biblical Songs, Op. 99.
Written while Dvořák was living in America, far from home, the cycle sets Czech Psalm texts in music shaped by prayer, longing, and consolation, with echoes of both Czech folk music and sounds he encountered in America.
Watch the full performance now, and catch Anna live with BASS again this weekend!
