Always treat the janitor like the ceo

The most beautiful moment of my mom's funeral was when the assembled folks seemed to part and up walked a woman. She was disheveled, not completely clean and definitely singular in the small-town gathering. She Bee-lined to me to say i probably didn't know her but she knew about me. She said my mom was the only person who always said hello, always stopped to chat, always had a kind word to share. I was struck dumb as the whole room dissolved to she and I. Once she said her piece, she turned, said goodbye, and left. I've never forgotten that moment.

Manners and general respect is something most of us are taught from a young age. Some people keep that lesson and live their life with it, because I personally see it as fundamental. Others get into a fancy Uni/ College and become different, get a brand new car and change overnight; people are people, we are all flawed, some just more than others. If you can treat the CEO of a company the same as you treat the Janitor, you’re seeing the person, not their label. Be that person.

The more people you have the lonelier it gets. 30 000 students is a lot i doubt people even acknowledge him being around. I live in a small town and everybody knew the janitor
