For so many years, I believed that being a good wife, mother, and woman meant always being available, always saying yes, and putting everyone else’s needs before my own.
And somewhere along the way, I lost sight of myself.
It took my body reaching its limits for me to realize that constantly overextending myself wasn’t sustainable.
Here’s what I’ve learned: Pulling back isn’t selfish. It’s recalibration.
You can love deeply, give generously, and still honor your own needs. You don’t have to exhaust yourself to prove your love, your loyalty, or your worth.
Learning to set boundaries, protect your energy, and prioritize your well-being isn’t about becoming less caring. It’s about finally including yourself in the care you so freely give to others.
Choosing yourself doesn’t mean abandoning others. It means no longer abandoning yourself. 🤍
And remember, you deserve to live a life that feels as good on the inside as it looks on the outside.
